Wolność prasy w Polsce w czasie epidemii wirusa SARS-CoV-2

Abstract

The paper aims to examine the freedom of the press in Poland during the COVID-19 pandemic. The study concerns two aspects: normative and practical. Freedom of the press is a condition for functioning democracy. It has had a special role during the SARS-CoV-2 epidemic which has changed the social life of the whole world. The article attempts to answer the question of the state of freedom of the press during the epidemic. The research leads to the conclusion that during the sanitary crisis in Po land, the normative model of freedom of the press has not changed, but the practical actions of the government administration have limited the freedom of the press, particularly its right to inform and criticise. It is a real threat to democracy.
