Abstract

Rocznica I Soboru Nicejskiego, która na nowo uświadamia nam podstawowe znaczenie doktryny nicejskiej związanej z pojęciem homoousios, domaga się odnowionej refleksji nad genezą i istotą arianizmu, gdyż wywołał on jeden z najpoważniejszych kryzysów, które kiedykolwiek dotknęły Kościół. Problem powracał potem jeszcze wielokrotnie w ciągu wieków, ale doktryna nicejska była podstawą udzielanej w Kościele odpowiedzi oraz podstawą odbudowywania autentyczności wiary. Również we współczesnym Kościele pojawiają się pewne znaki powrotu arianizmu, którymi musi się zająć teologia w imię autentyczności swojej misji kościelnej.

The anniversary of the First Council of Nicaea, which remindsus of the fundamental significance of the Nicene doctrine associated with the concept of homoousios, calls for renewed reflection on the origins and essence of Arianism, as it caused one of the most serious crises ever to affect the Church. The problem ocurred many times over the centuries, but the Nicene doctrine was the basis for the Church’s response and for rebuilding the authenticity of the faith. In the contemporary Church, too, there are certain signs of a return to Arianism, which theology must address in the name of the authenticity of its ecclesial mission.
