    Obrzędy i rytuały inicjacyjne w Casamance (Senegal). Analiza etnohistoryczna

    W artykule przedstawiono wybrane elementy organizacji społecznej i kulturowej niektórych grup (Baynounk i Diola) żyjących obecnie w Casamance, regionie położonym w południowo-zachodniej części Senegalu. Na podstawie danych historycznych oraz antropologicznych ukazano chronologię osadnictwa w regionie oraz jego specyfikę. Owa „specyfika” interpretowana jest przez pryzmat obrzędów i rytuałów inicjacyjnych (także przedinicjacyjnych) u Baynounk i Diola. Rytuały te mają istotne znaczenie w kontekście kulturowych różnic, które podnoszone są w sytuacji konfliktu i dążeń separatystycznych mieszkańców Casamance. Są one wciąż bardzo żywe, pomimo zachodzących procesów modernizacyjnych wzmacniają ich tożsamości regionalne. Tekst oparty został na dostępnych źródłach historycznych oraz materiałach etnograficznych pozyskanych podczas kilku wyjazdów terenowych do Casamance w Senegalu. This article presents selected elements of the social and cultural organization of some groups (Bayno-unk and Diola) currently living in Casamance, a region in the southwestern part of Senegal. Based on ethnohistorical and anthropological data, it presents the chronology of settlement in the region and its specificity. This “specificity” is interpreted through the prism of initiation rites and rituals (including pre-initiation) in Baynounk and Diola. These rituals are important in the context of cultural differences that arise in the context of conflict and separatist aspirations of the inhabitants of Casamance. They are still very much alive, and despite the ongoing modernization processes, they strengthen their regional identities. This paper is based on available historical sources and ethnographic materials obtained during several research trips to Casamance in Senegal.
