    The Central Archive of the Light-Life Movement is the central unit of the Light-Life Movement. Organizationally, it is one of the two branches of Rev. Franciszek Blachnicki Institute. Like any historical archive, its aim is to gather, organise, protect, store and provide access to archival materials. The records stored in the fonds of the archive in question are primarily linked with Rev. Blachnicki, who established the Oasis Movement and initiated many other pastoral and social actions. A number of initiatives started by Blachnicki, along with the Light-Life Movement contributed to the production of materials which are now stored in the Central Archive of the Light-Life Movement. The article presents not only the stages of the creation of the above mentioned fonds but also its current legal status and contemporary tasks and functions. The paper shows the general outline of the fonds of the Archive which comprises numerous records divided into separate units. The Archive also contains a collection of leaflets-still unprocessed, posters and boards, as well as a collection of various serial, compact and brochure publications. The total fonds consists of approximately 120 linear meters of the records. The documentation in the form of mechanical sound recordings constitutes a significant part of the archival fonds (about five thousand hours), photographs (mostly positives of various formats - about 11 thousand photographs), slides (about 1000 frames) and films. The article also focuses on the archival equipment, housing conditions, the rules of providing access to the materials and the most important tools used for storing records. In addition, the authors mentioned issues related to the forms of popularization of the archival materials stored in the fonds of the Archive in question.

    Opracowanie, digitalizacja i udostępnianie fotografii związanych z działalnością ks. Franciszka Blachnickiego w Archiwum Głównym Ruchu Światło-Życie

    Fotografie dokumentujące działalność ks. Franciszka Blachnickiego zgromadzone w Archiwum Głównym Ruchu Światło-Życie to największe zbiory poświęcone tej osobie. Archiwum jest częścią Instytutu im. ks. Franciszka Blach­nickiego, który zabezpiecza spuściznę po tym kapłanie i upowszechnia jego myśl. Na kolekcje fotografii składają się serie odbitek pozytywowych, slaj­dy, klisze oraz albumy. Zdjęcia zostały odpowiednio opisane i nadano im sy­gnatury. Fotografie, slajdy i klisze zostały zdigitalizowane w odpowiednich rozdzielczościach pozwalających na wykorzystanie do druku. Bezpośrednim dysponentem zdjęć jest Wydawnictwo Światło-Życie, które wydaje wiele ksią­żek poświęconych działalności ks. F. Blachnickiego. Fotografiami są również zainteresowane redakcje czasopism, portali internetowych i organizatorzy wydarzeń poświęconych ks. F. Blachnickiemu. Zdjęcia zostały również wy­korzystane w przygotowaniu filmów o kapłanie. Założony przez ks. F. Blach­nickiego Ruch Światło-Życie nieustannie się rozwija, a zainteresowanie osobą założyciela jest ciągle żywe.

    Zbiory specjalne w zasobie Archiwum Głównego Ruchu Światło-Życie

    Archiwum Główne Ruchu Światło-Życie jest działem Instytutu im. ks. Franciszka Blachnickiego. Zasób archiwum został ukształtowany w wyniku działalności ks. Franciszka Blachnickiego (1921-1987). Część z zainicjowanych przez niego dzieł rozwija się do dziś. Największy zespół dokumentacji stanowią akta Ruchu Światło-Życie (działa nieprzerwanie od roku 1969, a początkami sięga lat 50. XX wieku). Wśród zgromadzonej dokumentacji znajdują się również zbiory wyjątkowe. Należą do nich nagrania i fotografie związane z osobą metropolity krakowskiego kard. Karola Wojtyły. Zdjęcia ukazują go podczas spotkań w oazach, na Dniach Wspólnoty oraz w Centrum Ruchu Światło-Życie. Ze spotkań z oazami pozostały również unikatowe nagrania. Kolejną interesującą kolekcję tworzą materiały fotograficzne i nagrania ze spotkań pierwszej oazy w Rzymie z Janem Pawłem II w 1979 roku. Materiały stanowią ilustrację genezy Światowych Dni Młodzieży zainicjowanych przez Jana Pawła II w 1985 roku. Do szczególnych materiałów należy zaliczyć również dokumenty ilustrujące prześladowania jakie spadły na ruch oazowy w latach 70. i 80. XX wieku. W Archiwum Głównym Ruchu Światło-Życie przechowywane są przekazy pocztowe potwierdzające przesyłanie w paczkach węgla do centrum oazowego. Zachowało się również kilka tysięcy kwitów pocztowych potwierdzających wpłaty na kary dla gospodarzy przyjmujących w czasie wakacji oazowiczów. Szczególnie cenne są materiały wytworzone przez Służbę Bezpieczeństwa. Są to podrobione dokumenty mające sprawić wrażenie wytworzonych przez środowisko kościelne. W zbiorach archiwum znajdują się również materiały związane z działalnością opozycji politycznej w PRL. Są to zdjęcia ze strajku w Gdańsku w 1980 roku, gazetki i druki solidarnościowe z lat 1980-1981. W zbiorach Archiwum znalazło się również kilkaset kaset magnetofonowych z nagraniem audycji Radia Wolna Europa. The Central Archive of the Light-Life Movement is a department of the Rev. Franciszek Blachnicki Institute. The collection of the archive was formed as a result of Rev. F. Blachnicki’s activity (1921-1987). Some of his works are continued up to now. The records of the Light-Life Movement (operating incessantly since 1969, the beginnings date back to the 1950s) are the biggest collection in this archive. The gathered documentation also contains exceptional collections such as recordings and photographs concerning Krakow Metropolitan Bishop, Karol Wojtyła. The photographs depict Cardinal Wojtyła at oasis meetings, on Community Days and at the Centre of the Light-Life Movement. There are also unique recordings from the oasis meetings. Another interesting collection contains the photographs and recordings from the meetings of the first oasis with John Paul II in Rome in 1979. The material illustrates the genesis of the World Youth Day initiated by John Paul II in 1985. Other exceptional documents are the ones concerning the persecution the oasis movement suffered in the 1970s and 1980s. In addition, the archive contains postal orders confirming sending coal in parcels to the oasis centre. There are also a few thousand postal receipts confirming paying fines for providing accommodation for oasis participants. The material produced by the Security Service is especially valuable. These are falsified documents whose aim was to imitate documents produced by people connected with the Church. The archive also includes the material relating to the activity of the political opposition in the Polish People’s Republic. These are photographs from the strike in Gdańsk in 1980, Solidarity newspapers and prints of the years 1980-1981. What is more, the archival collection contains a few hundred cassettes with Radio Free Europe programmes.
